Love all the photos of terminal rr action. I am a Railway Express Agency fan and have been looking for photos of express cars, including REA, being spotted by a loco or maybe a platform mule or something similar. Even a loco with a REA marking/ herald on it.Do you know of anything in that line? Thanks Charles Harris New Zealand swchuck( at)gmail.com
Not yet! My locomotive fix-it guy is stumped as well. My next try will be with the S-Cab radio control battery system from Neil Stanton. I'm going to attempt that before wiring for DCC... Hopefully this next month or so I'll get one and report on the blog how it works. Of course, I will need either to double head it or have an idler car permanently attached.
The 44 tonner is running better now. There is still some binding in one truck, but the switch to a battery R/C system - CVP Products AirWire and CNVRTR package -has eliminated the power problem. I also attached a piece of aluminium to the Tsunami 750 with heat sink paste, which has eliminated the overheating problem. Now to install same system in the other 44 tonner!

DeleteI haven't seen anything, but I will keep an eye out and post if I do!
Thanks for reading,

Did you eventually get your Bachmann GE 44 tonners working well with sound?

I did! See http://ponyrr.blogspot.com/2014/08/micro-tsunami-overheating.html for an update as well as the comments below.
DeleteHi, Did you eventually get the Bachmann GE 44 tonners with sound working well? What advice do you have for others doing this? Ed
ReplyDeleteSee the latest posts (31 July and 1 August 2014) for my conversion to R/C. It must have been a pick up problem plus a decoder overheating problem.
